Position: Research Assistant through the Center for Education Policy Analysis Undergraduate Research Program (CEPA URP)


  • Created multiple resource documents to aid in field testing a novel tablet computer assessment of social and emotional learning in kids.



  • Created technical manuals for tablet app's features and usage, as well as a guide to experimental design. 

  • Researched over 30+ potential community partners for study on social and emotional learning in children. 

  • Created resource guides on grant applications, community partners, and relevant journals for general lab usage. 

  • Created FAQ and two-page brief of tablet application for potential funders and community partners.

Key Takeaway: Being part of a research project in its early stages gave me a new perspective and deeper appreciate of the components and preparation required for research.

  • Maintained a steady rate of survey completion from participants throughout each round of the study through consistent follow up and issue resolution. 


  • Managed survey distribution, response collection, and reward compensation of 600+ participants.

  • Created and reviewed surveys in Qualtrics for longitudinal study and resolved technical issues experienced by participants.

  • Prepared online resources and formatted lesson plans for educators and parents to lead discussions on drug use in youth. 

Key Takeaway: When developing tools for educators and for use in the classroom, it is crucial to always connect the tools back to the user, their experiences, and their current situation.
